African Tribes: Facts About Afar People

The afar people lived primarily in Ethiopia and in the areas like Djibouti and somaliacan which is in the horn Africa.  The land here is mainly rocky and it has more of desert terrain. The afar people are part of African tribes and they also lived in the Awash valley and with the many forests that were located in the northern part of Djibouti.  These had about three million people and these make up the Afar culture.

There are only two hospitals which are available in the region which is close to Afar.  The people of this culture and African tribes are usually found to be malnourished.  The diets that these people follow are mostly milk and bread.  Water is scare for the people of the Afar tribe. Water is usually tanked in and because of this the result is quite expensive. Many people of this tribe gave anemia, malaria and other such ailments because their diets are quite inadequate.

The nomads of the afar tribe have a very unique culture and they have daily lives that consist of tending to livestock which includes goats, camels, and cattle that is located in this region.

The people of this tribe are very dependent on the livestock that they rear for their economy. In fact religion also happens to be quite an integral part of this tribe. A lot of these people follow the Muslim religion and a small portion of them practice orthodoxy. The amphora tribe is another tribe that is quite prevalent in this region.

The amphora tribe is one of the many African tribes, which is a politically and culturally dominant group of Ethiopia. These are located in the central plateau of Ethiopia and these comprise of a major population element in the many provinces of the Guojon and wallow.  These are a minority as compared to the population of Ethiopia. It has been estimated that the tribe is closely related to the Tiger and these constitute about one third of the total population of this place.  The number of people who speak the amhara language is approximately about seven million and eight hundred thousand.

The clothes they wear are mostly white. There are white shawls and light blankets that are worn over the shoulders by the tribal men and the women wear white dresses and wraps. Most of these tribal live in the harsh mountains, this is because the region becomes easy to defend, although it becomes quite difficult to travel and get provisions. The men usually work in the fields and the women usually work around the houses. The children usually watch their sheep.
